Just 1 mile from the house, you will find the visitor centre for the Torre Guaceto in Serra Nova
The protected coast and the Natural reserve of the Torre Guaceto encloses a precious stretch of uncontaminated and charming coast where time seems to have stopped. The park extends approximately 1000 hectares of land and 2000 hectares of sea that makes up an overall stretch 7km of coastline.
The Ancient tower of Guaceto was the last last man-made construction on the coast. Built in 1500 by the Aragonese as an outpost in order to warn them of invasions by the turks. This tower - situated on a tall headland that is raised by the sea that dominates the rest of the Natural Reserve which is an an astonishing territory of biodiversity.
The tall sand dunes which peak on the sea are studded in the summer season with lilies and are overcome by century old junipers.
You will be fascinated by the intriguing landscape and ambience from the reserve area or by the sea which appears suddenly from the vegetaion of the golden sand.
Beyond the shore, the deep sea fields of Posidonia, fish which are never disturbed and precious coral reefs.
Century old trees, rare orchids and beautiful sea provide the Torre Guaceto and its neighbouring aras with a refuge to find themselves at peace with both nature and the sea.
